Group 8

Dynamobel furnished the new headquarters of Group 8, housed in an old, 780-m2 warehouse. The unique feature of the layout lies in the use of reused shipping containers for a range of collective uses, such as rest areas, conference rooms, cafe, etc.
This original idea splits the warehouse into two large areas: one occupied by these monsters of storage and an open-plan area with a great number of work stations. The furniture used, TEC desks and Trazo chairs, is white and lends spatial rhythm to the room thanks to the vertical architecture provided by the T-Box storage modules. The non-repetition of the furniture layout means that the area goes some way towards resembling a miniature landscape, far from the rigid atmospheres so common to office space.

Group 8 was founded by nine partners in 2000. The architectural firm employs a staff of 70, all working to redefine the limits of design through R&D. The studio has won several awards and the relocation of the Etat de Genève’s environment department features amongst its projects.
