On the occasion of the completed new Metaforum  Jacques Choisy visited early October along with Joost Ector (Ector Hoogstad Architecten) the campus of the Technical University of Eindhoven. The W-hall (Mechanical Engineering hall) of the former Eindhoven Technical College formed part of the first generation of buildings on the campus. The building was constructed in the second half of the 1950s, after a design by architects Van Embden and Choisy. The aim was to create a flexible ‘indoor hectare’ for machinery and experiments. (Español) El pasado día 25 de Noviembre el diario La Gaceta dedicó, en su edición de fin de semana, media página a Dynamobel. No es habitual ver editadas noticias sobre la empresa , por lo que destacamos la importancia de esta publicación. El artículo centra su atención en la inversión que está haciendo la empresa en el desarrollo de nuevos productos, con objeto de afrontar el escenario adverso de crisis aguda que estamos padeciendo. Bajo el titular, “Dynamobel, el pez rápido”, el diario enumera los nuevos productos haciendo hincapié en la silla Slat16 y el programa de partición 1:10. También destaca la presencia internacional de la empresa en varios países y recalca el origen familiar de la empresa y el proceso sereno que ha tenido para competir en un mercado cada vez más globalizado y liderado por multinacionales.

Before getting down to designing this chair, it was clear that all our efforts should be aimed at creating a new concept. The end result is Slat16, a different kind of eco-friendly chair, characterised by the idea behind and design of its backrest, the distinguishing feature that adds value and personality to the whole piece. The operator version of the chair with upholstered backrest is, in essence, the finest example from this programme.
